We rolled into Calais pretty late—like 9 PM—and almost everything was closed. Most places shut down early, even the Casino that said they’d be open till 10 PM. At 9:30, their employees were already piling into their cars to go home. Total ghost town vibes. This Vival shop wasn’t exactly around the corner, but since we had a car, it was a lifesaver to find it open. They actually stay open till midnight, which is awesome when you need stuff late at night. Inside, the place is packed with products—crowded shelves everywhere—so chances are you’ll find whatever you need, or at least a decent alternative. The only downside? Parking is a nightmare. Even though the railway station across the street was closed, every single parking spot was taken. All in all, if you get stuck in Calais late and need to grab something quick, this Vival is a solid option. Just brace yourself for the parking struggle.

Open on Sunday when most shops are closed. We bought ice cold beers, french cheeses butter and bread. Perfect picnic in our hotel room after a long day travelling from the UK to Calais. The proprietor was friendly and welcoming.
